For those who don't know about MobiKwik then it's an Indian company that provides a mobile phone-based payment system and digital wallet, something similar to that of Paytm or GooglePay.


In the past 11 years, MobiKwik has built its brand value in the market.

But today some shocking news came out.


A massive data leak has been sensed in MobiKwik. According to some researchers, this is the largest KYC data leak ever reported


A database containing private information of more than 3.5 Million users appeared on the dark web for sale in exchange for bitcoins.

The information about this data leak was sensed by an independent researcher Rajshekhar Rajaharia. His work was first published on the TechNadu website. A French ethical hacker and security researcher Robert Baptiste, who goes by the name Elliot Alderson, also tweeted about the alleged data breach this afternoon.


The leaked data contains more than 3.6 million files, comprise of 8.2TB of data.


This full data was offered at a price of 1.5 bitcoin.


According to Moneycontrol, the data includes details of users' email addresses, phone numbers, hashed passwords, plus bank account and card details.


From the company side, when it was asked to them, they just refused it. They didn't agree to the fact that their data has been leaked.
